Accessible Materials and Effective Communication Remote Workshop

Description

When providing information about your services to the public through marketing materials, user guides, social media posts and other communication, it is important to remember that people with low vision, hearing loss, motor impairment or cognitive disabilities may be receiving this much needed information. Join us to review the effective communications requirements according to the ADA and learn hands-on how to create documents and digital content in a way that ensures all people can easily access and understand the information you are giving them.

The remote workshop will cover effective communication and the ADA, how people with different disabilities communicate, how technology is used by people with disabilities to access digital content, how to create accessible documents, email, social media, and presentations, and how to check for accessibility. 

• Session 1: Wednesday, February 25 – 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
• Session 2: Friday, February 27 – 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Each participant should be able to access and actively work on an electronic communication project during the workshop. Access to multiple screens during the workshop is recommended. Participants will receive electronic materials and a Zoom link from Easter Seals by February 22, 2026.

Please note: This training is offered at no cost to transit providers through the Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP) funds. This training is limited to 61 participants. Each transit provider can send a maximum of two participants, subject to available seats for this training.
