People’s Express (hereafter referred to as “PEX”) is a non-profit paratransit agency located in Whitmore Lake, Washtenaw County, Michigan. PEX is dedicated to providing safe and reliable public transportation to empower all individuals to maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life, with attention to underserved populations including, but not limited to: aging adults, people with disabilities, lower-income, underemployed or unemployed, and those with limited access to transportation due to rural geography.

PEX has experienced exponential growth in recent years and has expanded its transportation services in the multi-county service areas of Livingston, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne. To meet the needs of the expanding fleet and service area, PEX must complete preliminary requirements to construct a new sustainable transportation headquarters to facilitate rural transportation that has been funded through the Federal Transit Administration’s Section 5339 Buses And Bus Facilities Program.
