General Summary:

The Mechanic is responsible for satisfactory preventative maintenance services and minor repairs of Authority vehicles and equipment with nominal supervision when necessary.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Inspects Authority vehicles and equipment to identify the cause of errors or other problems/defects.

2. Repairs and maintains Authority vehicles and equipment in accordance with the principles, methods, and procedures of transit fleet maintenance operations.

3. Operates Authority vehicles and equipment to determine effectiveness of maintenance principles, methods, and procedures.

4. Check all vehicle fluid levels, i.e., engine oil, water, transmission fluid, etc.

5. Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Senior Manager of Maintenance and Facilities.
