TCATA - Request for Proposals - Audit Services

Twin Cities Area Transportation Authority (TCATA) has been hard at work since 1978, building a transit system that the Benton Harbor area can be proud of. TCATA is more than a transportation business. Every passenger is important to us, we want to offer the safest and most convenient service possible. TCATA is primarily funded through state, federal, and local grants.

TCATA seeks to engage the services of a certified public accounting firm to provide annual year-end financial audit services for the organization. TCATA, as public transportation authority receiving grant assistance from the Federal Transit Administration and Michigan Department of Transportation, requires the need of an independent audit performed by a certified public accounting firm.

The initial period to be audited is October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026. The Authority also desires to contract for audit service for fiscal years ending September 30, 2027 and September 30, 2028 for a total of three fiscal year periods. An additional two year option for fiscal years ending September 30, 2028 and September 30, 2029 is anticipated. The auditing firm selected must be available for some consultation with TCATA staff as needed, and at two time points during the year: the first prior to audit preparation to discuss the audit schedule, and the second to formally present the completed audit reports to the Board of Directors.
